The Force was strong with fans in cosplay at Comic-Con this year. We saw a near screen-accurate Kylo Ren, Leia (both young and mature), and some incredible Boba Fett mash-ups.

These are our favorite photos of “Star Wars” cosplay at San Diego Comic-Con 2016.

There has been an awakening in the Force.

A throwback Leia and Luke Skywalker rocked outfits from the original movie.

While this pair of lovebirds looked all grown up in their costumes from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Their son, a Kylo Ren cosplayer, made a crossguard lightsaber out of hot glue spray-painted red.

Kylo Ren does not mess around.

Temptation to join the Dark Side was everywhere.

Steampunk Darth Vader looked particularly grumpy sitting under the hot San Diego sun.

Clearly, he needed a TIE-Fighter to whisk him away.

The weather didn’t bother these Tusken Raiders, more commonly known as sand people.

But where there is Darkness, there is Light.

These glam Chewbacca cosplayers made their costumes out of wig hair. They look ready to party.

Pink Chewbacca and Pink Tusken Raider want in on the fun.

A more traditional looking Chewie wearing stilts towered over these mini-cosplayers.

Okay, cuteness overload. Just stop.

Everyone’s favorite astromech droid, BB-8, got a lift from a Rey cosplayer.

What’s better than one BB-8? Two!

This “Slave Leia” took a cue from BB-8′s style.

Princesses came in full force to Comic-Con, including Jedi Anna and “Slave Elsa” from “Frozen.”

“Snowba Fett” doesn’t need a prince to rescue her.

She brought a friend who’s up to no good, Lilo Fett.

These Twi’lek cosplayers made theirs costumes by hand. The woman on the left created a whole backstory for her original character.

This Millennium Falcon jumped through hyperspace to avoid the long lines at Hall H.

This very original-looking Bo-katan, from “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” dons a cape from the movie “300.”

We saw our fair share of Boba Fett mash-ups, including one impossibly cute “Tinker Fett.”

“Avengers, assemble!” says Captain Boba Fett.

“Redneck Boba Fett,” known among his friends as Bubba, wears a jetpack adorned with Solo cups and “Trader Jawa” and “Jabba Hut” stickers.

Leave it to Hux and Captain Phasma to keep everyone in line.

Watch out for the Rancor! This incredible suit took $2,000 and a year to build.
