Brie Larson is now officially super.
The 26-year-old actress has been working in the industry since she was in diapers, but has more recently become a well-known name thanks to her Oscar-winning role in “Room.”
Now she’s set to have a major film franchise under her belt after it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con that she will star as Captain Marvel, the title character in Marvel Studios’ first female-led superhero film.
The role of Carol Danvers might also lead to a cameo in “Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1.”
With her incredible acting talent and cheerful personality, she is on the fast track to the kind of stardom that graced Jennifer Lawrence before her.

Brie began acting and changed her last name to “Larson” as her surname was too difficult to pronounce.

After a few years of appearing in guest spots on TV, she landed her first movie role at 15 as one of the “six chicks” in “13 Going on 30″ in 2003.

In 2006, she scored one of the main roles in the family adventure comedy “Hoot,” opposite Luke Wilson. But acting wasn’t the only profession she was focused on.

At about the same time, Brie was trying to launch her singing career.
Her first single, “She Said,” peaked at 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2004. A year later, her only album, “Finally Out of P.E.,” came out and sold a disappointing 3,500 copies in the US.

Her next big film role would mark her final singing appearance to date on-screen …
… in 2010′s “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,” she played Envy Adams, Scott’s ex and the lead singer of the Clash at Demonhead.

Brie was also finding steady work on the small screen. From 2009 to 2011 she played the troubled teen Kate on “The United States of Tara.”

The show, starring Toni Collette as her mother and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, was the first time audiences saw Larson show off her dramatic chops.
In 2012, she landed another major milestone role in the Jonah Hill/Channing Tatum comedy “21 Jump Street.”

The role showed she could hold her own opposite an established star like Hill.
But instead of using the role to jump on another big Hollywood project, she went indie as she took a supporting role in the 2013 drama “The Spectacular Now,” opposite Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley.

The movie led to Larson and Woodley becoming good friends. “We’re the lighthouse for each other: the beam that stays focused and guides you home,” Brie once said.

In the same year, the movie that made people in Hollywood take serious notice of Larson, “Short Term 12,” came out.

Playing the young supervisor of a treatment center showed Larson could carry a film. The role earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination.
And though she didn’t receive any Oscar love, she suddenly had the ear of every director working in the business.
2015 would be another milestone for the actress. She starred as the more stable sister opposite Amy Schumer in the hit “Trainwreck.”

Then in the fall her latest film, “Room,” made the rounds at the big award-season festivals, Telluride and Toronto, with stellar word of mouth.

We can confirm that her performance as a young woman who has been living in the shed of her kidnapper for seven years with her son is Oscar-worthy.
Brie Larson accepted her Oscar for best actress with a humble speech about her profession.
She went on to win a Golden Globe, BAFTA, Independent Spirit Award, SAG Award, Women Film Critics Circle Award, and more for the role of Ma. Again, they’re all very much deserved.
As we see in Brie’s Instagram, she bonded with her 9-year-old costar Jacob Tremblay.
She gives her followers constant updates of the press she’s doing.
Including her crazy schedule doing photo shoots …
… and the fun people she has met along the way.
You need to find time for breaks when you’re one of Hollywood’s hardest-working young stars.
And she proved she can keep up her hilarious persona with the best when she hosted “Saturday Night Live” in May 2016. She mostly played the more serious characters but still shined in the moments she was allowed to let loose.
In between all the award wins and “SNL” gig, Larson traveled to Vietnam to film what will surely be a blockbuster in 2017: “Kong: Skull Island.”
She often went on Instagram to share how much she was loving the local culture…
And how much she loved hanging out with her cast, which includes Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, John C. Reilly, and John Goodman.
In fact, she seems to truly enjoy every cast she works with. In addition to “Kong: Skull Island,” Larson also filmed the drama “The Glass Castle” with Naomi Watts and Woody Harrelson.
At the same time that she uses social media to share a lot of behind-the-scenes moments of filming and the Hollywood world, Larson also use it to take a stand and send inspirational messages about living in harmony and caring for others and their stories.
She shared her thoughts on the tragic mass shooting in a gay nightclub in Orlando and used the publicity for her Hollywood Reporter cover to instead turn the attention on the #OscarsSoWhite controversy.
Of course, now the 26-year-old is making headlines since it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con that she will indeed be playing Captain Marvel, the title character in Marvel Studios’ first female-led superhero film. Thankfully, the rumors were true.
She already has the approval of Captain America. Chris Evans, who starred with Larson in “Scott Pilgrim,” said back in June that he really hoped her casting would happen: “I cannot say enough about Brie Larson. I think she is phenomenal, and I really hope that happens.”

Needless to say, she can definitely handle a film of that stature.
Now she can join this amazing crew of women to show how female superheroes can be successful in the Marvel Cinematic Universe too.
But even with a major franchise like Marvel, we’re pretty sure Larson is going to stay the same caring and hilarious person who knows how to stay level-headed even under enormous pressure.
